OUR PROCESS
"EVERY PAINTING IS A COLLABORATION, DRAWING INSPIRATION
FROM EACH WEDDING'S UNIQUE DETAILS"
From the start, Tony is the main point of contact. He works with our couples and their coordinators, discussing venue, vantage point options and day-of logistics to get everybody on the same page and the vision started.
1) COLLABORATE
Leading up to the wedding day, a phone or video consultation is arranged. This is where Taylor, Tony and the couple have the opportunity to further discuss overall visions, creative ideas, and the what when and who's to be showcased within the painting.
Let us paint you a picture. Taylor and Tony arrive four hours prior to guest's arrival, locate the predetermined vantage point and begin framing the overall composition.
As Taylor begins his background layers plein-air, Tony sets up a secondary easel at the reception space for a smooth transition into the evening creation.
2) DAY-OF EXPERIENCE
As the guests begin to arrive and are seated, the background features are well developed, adding to the natural anticipation. When everybody is in place, Taylor begins figurally sketching in featured subjects, leaving a flowing preview of the portraiture yet to come.
Throughout this process, Tony captures reference photos which are utilized for fine detail and portrait development throughout the evening reception and celebration.
4) RELIVE THE MEMORY
3) STUDIO REFINING
Every painting is a collaboration drawing its inspiration from the qualities of each individual wedding. The final work of art is as completely unique as the wedding's details and couple that it portrays.
This is when the fun really begins. Taylor starts to quickly render shapes, colors and postures, bringing figures to life.
Step away for 30 minutes and be amazed at the progression that has taken place since. Every visit to the easel throughout the evening brings more surprise and awe.
Taylor invites guest interaction and conversation throughout his creation process. On occasion, he'll allow the opportunity for a special guest to fill in some color, but is always sure to invite the newlyweds to add a personal touch to their masterpiece.
At the end of the evening, the painting is brought back to our studio where finishing touches are made and an overall sharpening is applied. Upon completion, a satin varnish is applied, the painting is paper backed, wire backed, bumpered, and ready to hang.
All artwork is shipped post event and we offer free personal delivery up to 30 miles of our studio in Fallbrook, CA. We love being a part of the moment you see your original masterpiece for the first time!
HAND BUILT IN-STUDIO
"GREAT ART NEEDS TO BE GREAT THROUGHOUT, NOT JUST ON THE SURFACE"
An heirloom must withstand the test of time. This led to custom building our canvases from scratch, cutting our stretcher bars from premium woods, hand stretching of the strongest canvas fabrics and protecting the work of art with Larson Juhl frame mouldings, all in-studio. On the surface of every hand built canvas, we use only premium paint pigments, mediums and varnishes.
SUSTAINABLE STRETCHER BARS
The stretcher bars of a canvas are the foundation upon which the artwork is created. The Deluxe canvas is built with Canadian Douglas Fir which has shear strength and stiffness with high bending strength. The Premier canvas features plantation-grown FSC Certified Teak that is identical to the timber produced in Southeast Asia’s tropical forests with less impact on the environment. Teak is a worldwide favorite due to its superior strength and resistance to the elements.
PREMIUM CANVAS
For our studio-built Deluxe and Premier canvases, we use premium fabrics. Cotton Duck linen is among the highest quality canvas with its tightly woven threads providing extra texture and durability. Belgian Linen is the finest the world has to offer. These superior linens come from the Flanders region of Belgium, known for its fertile flax farms and deep history of quality textiles where they still use traditional methods of production to this day.
M. GRAHAM PAINTS
Twenty years ago, artist and master paintmaker Art Graham put years of experience at other paint companies behind him and started his own business based on his own vision and values. The result is a rich paint, created with pigments sourced from around the world, manufactured without fillers or additives, that goes back to some of the painting's finest traditions. “We simply want to make a paint that makes the artist’s painting look its best.”
PAPER AND CANVAS GICLEE PRINTS
Each Live Wedding Art package includes two giclee prints to accompany the original painting, intended for each side of the family. Our Giclees are printed on the highest quality non-toxic archival paper and canvas, providing a true gallery-quality look and feel.
FRAMED FINISH
Our studio built, wood frames are the final addition to the Live Wedding Art experience. With options from classic to ornate, each piece is uniquely framed to compliment both the artwork and the space in which it will be on display. Classic paintings are completed in a 1-2 inch frame width, Deluxe paintings with a 2-3 inch frame width and Premier paintings completed in 3-4 inch frame width. Each comes with your choice of molding and color finish, adding protection and a personalized finishing touch to your painting.
ARTIST EMBELLISHED GICLEES
Our Premier package offers two Artist Embellished gallery wrapped giclee prints. Taylor carefully replicates the original painting’s colors and brush strokes, adding his personal touch and giving each giclee print the look and texture of the original painting.
